From Brown Box to Craftsman-Inspired Beauty
After working with another architect on their exterior renovation plans, this Knoxville couple reached out for a second opinion on how to really bring their Craftsman-inspired vision to life. With some thoughtful tweaks and design know-how, the updated exterior gave their home the charm and character they’d been dreaming of.
The couple was presented with three initial design concepts and invited to share their thoughts. After reviewing the options, they came back with a few key requests:
Simplify the front door design
Increase the roof pitch for a more dramatic profile
Replace the porch railing with a solid masonry-clad wall
Open up the porch gable as much as possible—without incorporating exposed beams
